A Dixieland Jass band
Speak Easy is a Denver based seven piece band filled with talented musicians that play in a traditional jazz swing style of the 1920’s. This dixieland genre, also known as trad jazz and hot jazz, developed in New Orleans and has roots in the ragtime tradition. Dixieland was made famous by such acts as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, and The Firehouse Five Plus Two.
Speak Easy features an improvisatory horn section of trumpet, trombone, and soprano saxophone as well as a full rhythm section of upright bass, piano, and drums. The band is highlighted by the virtuosic vocals of Jeremiah Martinez.
While the band has a large diversity of songs, the focus is on fast swinging tunes that are perfect for dancing and are just flat out fun! Each of the musicians perform with other acts, but they came together to form this band because of how much joy this music creates.
This group is best suited to play for festivals, weddings, corporate events, private parties, and swing dances.

“For the past two years, my organization has hired Jeff Miguel and his colleagues to play for an annual country club event that we host. Their inclusion is always a big hit with our guests and their music creates the perfect ambiance for our evening. Jeff and his fellow musicians are highly skilled, exceptionally easy to work with and very professional. I highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.”
