Sultry Sounds is a jazz combo that plays a variety of jazz and world music styles. The group normally performs as a duo of guitar and saxophone, but extra members are available to create a trio or quartet at the client’s request. The small size of the band makes it perfect for smaller venues and more intimate events. Sultry Sounds is an ideal choice for cocktail hours, client appreciation events, weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties. 

Brendan Bondurant – Guitar 

“Guitarist Brendan Bondurant has been performing around the United States for over 15 years, playing everything from blues, jazz, flamenco, Brazilian music and classical guitar. He uses his flamenco and classical technique technique to play in the style of jazz greats Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, and Martin Taylor. In 2008 he was awarded the Greenseburg Guitar Scholarship to study Classical guitar at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and in 2014 he was awarded an Allied Arts grant to study flamenco in Madrid, Spain. Aside from performing, Brendan has been teaching for over a decade and maintains a busy studio in Denver, CO.” 

Jeff Miguel – Saxophone and Flute 

“Jeff Miguel is a saxophonist that currently teaches and performs in the Denver metro area. He recently received his Master of Arts Degree in Music – Emphasis in Jazz Studies from the University of Iowa and won the 2016 Downbeat Graduate Student Music Award for Best Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist. All About Jazz describes him as an “expressive” saxophonist, “like a seasoned veteran poised to establish himself as musician of note.” 
In May of 2015, Miguel released, as a leader, his “auspicious debut” (Midwest Record), Perseverance. The album features all original compositions of a variety of styles and influences. Miguel has taken an approach in composition and arranging that “focuses on melody and sophisticated chord progressions to express himself” (Little Village Magazine). 
Miguel is an active performer on the Colorado music scene. He plays in several groups of various genres, and performs across the state for public and private events.”
